Coffee Culture based in a mall in Kurla, Mumbai was designed with the idea to capture the glimpses of people, objects and the urbanscape of mumbai and translate it in a fun and quirky manner into the space, as opposed to the ‘nowhere’ feel characteristic to the mall culture. The arcade within the glass facade of the cafe references to the type of a colonnaded walkway typical to south Mumbai, creating a pause and also diminishing the line between the cafe and the busy corridor of the mall. The intimate scale of the seating under the dome continues till the brew counter, spatially dividing the cafe seating area. There are variating seatings for couples, small groups and medium groups too. Quirky elements like the ‘Elvis Presley’ back painted chairs make it fun for even a alone user to enjoy his coffee.
