The client, a businessman who travels extensively for work and loves it, wants a simple white minimalist house. His work extends from India to United states, so does his family which makes both the habitating spaces his home. So this home in Valsad is sort of third home which he will be visiting every month for a few days for work. Taking cue from the clients brief of ‘white’, the interpretation came up as a design idea where we create an empty canvas with white walls, floor and ceiling wherein the splatter of colors is added through collage of furniture creating a dynamic painting.Going with an idea of open planning, where the movement from one space to another is seamless. There is a very clear demarcation in terms of semi-private and private spaces. Living-dining kitchen become one space where the functions overlap with each other. Space is formed by an assemblage of furniture elements which are simple but not inconspicuous. The furniture pieces are not meant to match with each other, opening a window for the travelling couple to add colorful memories into the home as any new addition would only enhance the feel of the space.
